Jump to RecipeA strawberry yogurt smoothie is an easy and healthy breakfast option as the weather starts to warm up during spring. Grocery stores have an abundance of strawberries during this time of year, offering the tastiest time to consume strawberries for the best price.
This recipe easily comes together with only five nutritious ingredients; a frozen fruit mix of strawberries, peaches and a banana for sweetness, along with Greek yogurt and almond milk to add a creamy texture and a hint of tart flavor and some protein to help keep you fuller for longer.
The strawberry peach smoothie is a crowd pleaser that can be easily served up for breakfast or brunch. Individual servings can be prepared ahead and then quickly blended when needed. To prep ahead of time, portion the fruit needed for one smoothie into individual freezer bags or containers. When you are ready to make the smoothie, just add the pre-portioned ingredients to a blender with milk and yogurt.
SMOOTHIE MAKING TIP
Skip the ice when making smoothies and use frozen fruits instead. This helps create the perfect smoothie consistency and avoids diluting the flavor and creating a slushy texture. You can either freeze your own fresh fruits in freezer bags or purchase already frozen fruits from the grocery store. Frozen fruits are picked and stored during peak season, so the taste will be just as good (or maybe even better) as when using fresh fruits.
SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS
- Almond Milk: Almond milk is my milk of choice. Feel free to use any type of milk you may have on hand.
- Greek Yogurt: Greek yogurt helps make the smoothie extra creamy and adds a hint of tart. Other types of yogurt will work as well, even flavored yogurts.
- Frozen Strawberries, Peaches and a Banana: Frozen fruits are recommended to create the best smoothie texture. Either freeze fresh fruits in freezer bags or purchase already frozen fruits from the grocery store.

BLENDING INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the Ingredients: In a blender add the ingredients; milk, yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen peaches and a frozen banana.
- Blend the Smoothie: Place the lid on the blender and blend for around 30 seconds until a smooth consistency is formed. If the mixture is too thick, add additional milk and blend for a few more seconds as needed.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pour the smoothie mixture into a glass and top with fruit garnishes and a straw if desired. Serve and enjoy immediately.
SMOOTHIE SUBSTITUTIONS
One of the best things about smoothies is that swaps and substitutions can be easily implemented to make the smoothie just to your liking, or even to use up ingredients you already have on hand.
- Make it Dairy-Free: Replace the yogurt with coconut yogurt, coconut cream, or your favorite dairy-free yogurt.
- Make it Sweeter: I know some of you love a sweet smoothie! The fruit in the smoothie provides the sweetness, but may not be cutting it. Add a couple teaspoons of sugar or honey while blending the ingredients together.
- Make it with Juice: Instead of milk, use a juice, such as orange juice, to the smoothie. This will add extra sweetness to the beverage, but will reduce the creaminess of the texture.
SMOOTHIE VARIATIONS
- Eliminate an Ingredient – Remove the peaches to make a strawberry and peach smoothie, or vice versa. Just add another cup of frozen fruit to keep the serving portion the same.
- Bring in a new Ingredient – Add in an additional fruit such as pineapple or mango to add extra flavor to the mix.
