A few savory and easy recipes I like to pair with grapefruit mimosas are bougie pigs in a blanket and a sausage and bacon egg casserole.

Ingredients

The grapefruit mimosa is a simple and refreshing cocktail that only calls for two ingredients, Champagne and grapefruit juice!

  • Champagne: Since grapefruit is not quite as sweet as orange juice, a mildly dry Champagne will best balance out the grapefruit juice. Avoid Brut Champagne since it may make the mimosas too dry to the taste.
  • Grapefruit: Juicing your own grapefruits with either a handheld or electric juicer will yield the best tasting and highest quality juice. The next best choice is to pick up a bottle of pulp free grapefruit juice. My go-to is Simply Grapefruit.

See recipe card for quantities.

Instructions

Prior to making the mimosas, allow the Champagne and grapefruit juice to chill in the refrigerator. Do not pour your mimosas until right before consuming, since this beverage is best enjoyed chilled.

Individual Servings

When ready to assemble, simply fill the glass with equal parts grapefruit juice and Champagne. Start by filling the glass midway with grapefruit juice. Then continue to fill the glass with Champagne, leaving room at the top for bubbling and movement to avoid spilling.

Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and a rosemary twig. The rosemary will add another winter element to the cocktail. And there you have it, a perfect winter grapefruit mimosa! Cheers!

Mimosas For A Crowd

Prep the area you will be placing the mimosa pitcher with clean glasses and garnishes. Right when guests start to arrive, get the pitcher of mimosas ready by pouring about 3 cups of grapefruit juice in the pitcher, followed by a bottle of Champagne (1.5L). Do not mix, and it’s ready to serve!
